New thermal printer mechanisms LTPV345 and LTPV445 - straigth paper path for label printing
Introducing the new thermal line printer mechanisms LTPV345 and LTPV445, Seiko Instruments enlarges its thermal printer portfolio for Point-of-Sales applications as well as for various industrial applications such as stationary and/or mobile measuring instruments.
Apart from the "Easy Paper Operation" - System, the LTPVseries features straight paper path. Compared to all other thermal printers with easy paper loading on the market, label printing thus becomes possible with these new Seiko Instruments printers.
"Easy Paper Operation" is realised by a complete release of the platen roller from the thermal head in order to easily feed the paper. In addition, cleaning of the thermal head becomes easier. After feeding the paper, the platen roller is firmly readjusted again by a metal hook, the so-called "latch function". Two springs guarantee for an even pressure on the thermal head and a paper end sensor detects the end of the paper roll. The position of an additionally paper end sensor can be selected either on the platen or the frame of the printer.
LTPVseries is able to print characters and figures (16 and 24 dots) as well as graphics and all existing barcodes on paper up to a thickness of 125µm. The printers weight 95g (LTPV345) and 115g (LTPV445) and can be applied with paper width of 80mm/112mm. Printing widths are 72mm/104mm. At a resolution of 8dots/mm a printing speed of 45mm/s at 5Volt and 85mm/s at 7.2Volt is reached. Finally, the mechanisms can be alternatively powered by Ni-MH / NI-Cd or lithium ion batteries.
